Black Friday or Blue Monday?

Huzzah, huzzah!

Well, it seems the Gods of Black Friday were smiling on me at "oh-dark-thirty" on that frosty morning, as I arrived home from my little shopping jaunt with a shiny new laptop. I'm sure it's only because I did not set my sights on the really mega-sale models that were being advertised here, there, and everywhere, tempting though they were.

Of course, that means that I spent the rest of the holiday weekend sitting with my eyes glued to the (extremely sharp and crystal-clear) screen, restart after restart, while I tried to load it up with everything I needed and make it as handy and familiar as my old warhorse was.
I'm nearly there.

Podcasts to follow soon! Let's hope the desktop holds up!

Podshow Number 17

Ceejay's computra is misbehaving again, but we finally got a show together! Thanks for hanging in there. (Man, I hope the after-Thanksgiving sales are good!)

More cool indie music and the introduction of the new Pod-Promo segment. Here's the scoop:

"Second Song" by Ten to Never
"Buh Ba Ba Ba" by Shagg
"You Said Nothing" by Fall of Snow
Pod Promo - The Hot Fossils and Rebel Matters Show
"I'd Rather Not Say" by Leave
"Mercury in Retrograde" by Sean Wiggins

Shagg and Leave both have CD Release Parties coming up. Details during the show.
Thanks to the Podsafe Music Network and 15 Megs of Fame

Please feel free to email me [at the gmail...ceejay1964...], leave comments here, or Skype in. Send me your comments, questions, suggestions, whatever. And if you really like the show and want to comment or vote for O.R. at Podcast Alley or Podcast Pickle, I'd really appreciate it.

The Middle of November?!! Already???

Sorry I am falling behind on the podcast! The last week has been a bit intense (as you may have surmised from the Insomnia Edition of the show), but it looks like the ducks are lining up nicely.
I hope to get a new podshow up within the next few days. Don't lose faith, and thanks for your support!

p.s. - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LYNN!!! The "BBC" lives!

Oh, the Hah-rah (that's Horror for you non-Southerners)

OK, yes... I'm actually watching "But Can They Sing"

Uh, that would be a no. A couple can hold a basic tune, but for the most part, no.
Props for getting up there and trying, but it's still a no.

No.

Keep Supporting Local Music. They usually can sing.

Podshow 16 - The Insomniac Episode

Yeah - I'm up in the night. Again.
I figure, why waste it? I'm gonna be screwed in the morning either way. Time for a podcast.

Bear in mind that I ramble a bit more than usual, and this show should probably have an "explicit" warning on it. Here's the info:

"Advice" by Redlines
Ceejay rambles: "What I Learned This Summer" *blah, blah, blah
"Shine On" by Caplyn
"Just Like Me" by Even Tide
"She Already Made Up Her Mind" by The Hamptons
"Good Luck Darling" by Abagnale

In the Moment

I think I need to carry a portable recorder.

I'm constantly thinking of things that I want to comment on (read: ramble about in an opinionated manner...), and when it is time to do the show, the moment and the thought are gone.
For instance - why does that Family Guy guy have an ass for a chin?

Oh well. Perhaps I'll try the audioblog thing.

Oh-Dark-Thirty and Counting

OK, it's some time after 3 in the morning, and I am sitting in the dark watching Batman on one of the upper cable channels. You know, the old 60s TV series version.
Pure Cheese.

Apparently, my life is lacking in some department or other. Or is it just my mind?

Movie Quote Contest Winners

We had 2 winners for the movie quote contest in the Halloween podshow. The answer was Bette Midler (as Winnifred Sanderson) from the movie, "Hocus Pocus." And if you're wondering, the clip was the spell she cast to raise ex-beau Billy from the dead.
Both winners chose a "Don't Harass Betty" CD as their reward.
Congrats!
